Getting rid of those hidden fats
We all know that the consumption of too much fat can lead to a wide variety of metabolic diseases. But….many times we ingest fat without even realizing it. That’s why I thought the following tips might help you towards a lesser-fat diet:
√ Cut off the visible fat on meat – before you cook it. And always cook chicken without its skin. By doing so you will eliminate quite a bit of saturated fat!
√ Make your soups a little less fat. How? Simple: when you are done preparing a soup – let it cool off in the refrigerator. You will soon see a layer of fat floating on the surface. Scoop it off with spoon, re-heat your soup and voila! A lot less saturated fat.
√ Try to use condiments to spice up your food, such as garlic. Or use mustard, onions or the juice of citric fruits. It will make your food taste great without using all those fatty sauces out there.
√ When you make hamburgers (yummy), try to replace 50% of he meat with rasped carrot. It will taste great and reduces your fat intake by half!
√ Instead of buying off-the-shelve sauces (with lots of fat), try to make your own sauces and give it some flavor by adding some wine. Don’t worry about the calories because the alcohol will evaporate when you cook the sauce. |
